Old Saybrook has been home for my mom and siblings for over 20 years now. Being in exile means constantly redefining what makes a community and I am incredibly grateful for this peaceful little town and the people who have made this a thriving community.
Thank you to everyone who came out to share knowledge and stories. We had a range of experiences in the audience from exiled Tibetans, long-time Tibet supporters, kids, environmentalists, artists, and of course my family. I am humbled to be in the company of and get blessings from such fine human specimens.
Some things we learned from the group: -the differences in the Tibetan names for the yak. female=dre. male=yak -where the rivers of Asia all originate (hint: it's a country in the title of this website) -kids and babies are pretty great
